Upstream

  • Tracks upstream commit 4973b8e, which builds on @base-ui/react v1.9.0
  • Ports everything upstream changed since v0.1.0. The full list of differences from the React API is in the public API differences.

Breaking changes

  • The highlightItem action is removed from the actionsRef of Combobox, Autocomplete, Menu, Context Menu and Select, as upstream reverted it before releasing it.
    There is no replacement. The highlight follows keyboard and pointer interaction, and onItemHighlighted reports it.

Bug fixes

  • Fix Field Control warning when an uncontrolled defaultValue changes. The new default now updates an unedited input.
  • Fix Tabs not selecting tabs whose values are functions
  • Fix Collapsible staying in its closing phase, and losing its open animation, when a render function removes the panel
  • Fix Combobox chip focus going stale after returning to the input
  • Fix Popover, Menu, Tooltip and Preview Card starting a viewport transition when the trigger remounts while closed
  • Fix Number Field Scrub Area firing onClick twice when the pointer isn’t locked

  • Fix Escape closing a popup while an IME composition is active
  • Fix Menu filter input reacting to keys and text while the menu animates out
  • Fix ArrowUp not highlighting the last item when it opens a filterable Menu
  • Fix click interactions reporting an empty pointerType instead of 'mouse' when opening popups
  • Fix the controlled to uncontrolled switch warning naming the wrong direction

Improvements

  • Add data-disabled to Fieldset Legend, and export FieldsetLegendDataAttributes
  • Limit the WebKit aria-selected state on filterable Menu items to while the filter input has focus
  • Keep handle-backed popup roots’ interactions mounted so inactive triggers don’t update on open and close
  • Docs: update the Paper Mono font
